Middle Course explained Flashcards

1
Q

In a meander where is there more erosion?

A

There is more erosion on the side where velocity is greatest. The river cuts into the bank and becomes deeper. This increases deposition on the opposite side of the river forming a slip-off slope and the meander takes a common shape
