Function of microscope.
Enlarge the image of objects too small to be seen by the naked eyes.
Base of microscope
Bottom of microscope, for support.
Eyepiece (Ocular lens)
To see the image of specimen.
Body tube
Connect eyepiece to the objective lenses.
Revolving nosepiece
Holds 2 or more objective lenses AND can rotated to easily change power.
Stage
- flat platform
- place the slides.
Iris/ diaphragm
controls the light going through the aperture.
Condenser
Collect and focus the light from illuminator to the specimen.
Objective lenses

Stage clips
hold the slide in place.

Coarse adjustment knob
- large, round knob
- used for focusing the specimen
Fine adjustment knob
- small, round knob
- to fine-tune the focus of your specimen.
Coaxial stage controls (stage controls)
Allow the slide to move to right and left, back and forth.
Why there is a concave slide
Designed to hold few drops of liquid.
