blood agar; anything will grow

macconkey plate; the bacteria must like bile/ bath salts

For gram positive and negative explain the cell walls and the different colours

Answer 2

Gram +ve; cell wall appears thick and consists of numerous interconnecting layer of peptidoglycan
colour is purple
Gram -ve; cell wall, contains a thinner, single layer of peptidoglycan and only has 2 or 3 layers
colour is pink
