Oligohydraminios

What causes it? What will it lead to?

A

A low level of amniotic fluid. Associated with agenesis of the kidneys. Will lead to Potter’s Syndrome (clubbed feet + pulmonary hyperplasia + cranial deformity)

  • Liver cyst + extremely large kidneys
  • Kidneys are sponge-like on cross-section

A

Abnormal development of the kidney in which cyst develop instead of functional kidneys. “Bunch of Grapes” formation.
