-Mexican culture has enriched the US border states with food, language and music
-The migrants take the harder, dirtier, seasonal, more monotonous, more dangerous, less skilled and less well-paid jobs.
-The migrants can accept low wages
-They are willing to work for long hours
-increased population will spend more in local economy.
-Solves the problem of an aging population → immigrants are usually young workers finding a job, the US has an aging population and will lack workers in the longer term, this mitigates the damage.
negative impact on USA
- Illegal migration costs the US millions of dollars for border patrol and prisons
- Migrants workers keep wages low which affects American worker
- Problems in cities due to cultural and racial issues
-Services such as hospitals and schools cannot cope with extra numbers
-Mexicans are considered as a drain of wealthy by the US
-Less jobs for the Americans → unemployment is already an issue. In 2019, several large chicken processing plants in Mississippi were raided by the ICE, and 680 undocumented immigrants were arrested. The plants were located in areas of high poverty rates above 20%.
-Crime rate is higher and drugs are being exchanged at the border by members of cartels.

- Chance of a job, Better pay than in Mexico
-Can save money and return to improve life in Mexico (6 billion dollars are sent back to mexico every year)
-The remittance send by the migrants will improve their family and standard of living
-There will be less crowdedness and better standards of living, more resources to be shared.
negative impact on mexico
-The Mexican country side had a shortage of economically active people
-Young people migrate leaving the old and kids
-Certain villages like Santa Ines have lost 2/3 of its inhabitants
-Brain drain → young and innovative people leave their home towns so there will be less innovation
