Methods of Training Flashcards
What are the six methods of training?
Continuous Training - Aerobic exercising at a moderate to high level with no rest.
Interval Training - High intensity periods of work followed by periods of rest.
Weight Training - involves shifting weight to increase the strength of muscles, using a programme
of repetitions and sets.
Fartlek Training
Circuit Training
Plyometric Training
What are the three Stages of a Warm Up?
Pulse Raiser (Cardiovascular)
Stretches (Static / Dynamic)
Activity Related
What component of Fitness does Weight Training develop?
Muscular Strength and Muscular Endurance depending on how you work out.

What is my Maximum Heart Rate?
220 - Age = Max HR
220-13= 207
What % should we be working with Continuous Training?
MHR
60 - 80%
What is Plyometric Training?
Exercises in which muscles exert maximum force in short intervals of time.
What component of Fitness does Plyometric Training develop?
Power
What is Power?
Speed X Strength
What is Circuit Training?
A series of exercises, completed for a certain amount of time, one after another.
