Fartlek or ‘Speed Play’ involves varying intensity and speed throughout a work out.
What is an example of Fartlek Training?
Alternating between jogging, sprinting and walking
What is Interval Training?
Alternating periods of high intensity exercise with low intensity recovery periods
What are some examples of Interval Training?
Sprinting for 30 seconds followed by a minute of walking
What is Circuit Training?
Involves a series of exercises performed in rotation with minimal test
What are some examples of circuit training?
Push ups, Squats, Jumping Jacks and sit ups in a sequence
What is Plyometric Training?
Involves explosive movements to increase power and speed.
What are some examples of Plyometric Training?
Jump Squats, Box Jumps and Clap Push Ups
What is Weight Training?
Uses weights or resistance to improve muscular strength and endurance.
What are some examples of Weight Training?
Lifting free weights, using resistance bands or weight machines
What is Flexible Training?
Focuses on improving the range of motion of muscles and joints
