What is job production
A
Where a company produces single product or small number of products to specific requirements
Is labour intensive
Eg. Wedding cake

What is batch production
A
- products that are made at the same time in batches
- each product in the batch is the same but there may be slight variations between batches
Eg. Same house repeated on building site

What is flow production
A
- Continuous process with production flowing from one operation to the next where parts are added to the product as it moves along the production line.
- The final product will have been made by the time it reaches the end of the production line.
- capital intensive.

A
- Labour is usually readily available
- No need to purchase a lot of expensive equipment
- It is expensive and takes time to recruit, select and train new employees
- Can take a long time to make a unique product.

- Robots can do repetitive work
● Loss of personal contact – no personalisation
● Lower labour costs – no pay, recruitment or training - Higher capital costs
