Ethical businesses carefully consider the implications of what they are doing and the effect it might have on the community and environment.

- Increased investment
- Less likelihood of illegal cases
- Restricted operations
- May require expensive reorganisation
A & D of fair trade
- Limits the choice of suppliers for a business
- Fairtrade products can cost more, which may put some customers off
- Quality of life should improve for workers in primary industries
- Fairtrade mark will make products more attractive to customers
A & D minimising waste
- Safe way for households to dispose of waste that cannot be recycled.
- Some contain gas extraction systems
- These need to be properly managed and designed.
- Waste decomposes and produced a toxic liquid – usually disposed of in nearby streams.
Recycling A&D
*Helps to protect natural resources
*Saves energy
*Costs of staff to collect waste
*Initially buying different coloured recycling bins could be expensive
Minimising packaging A&D
*Less packaging means less waste and fewer resources
being used up
*Less litter being dumped which means that more time can be spent on recycling
*Products may get damaged on route to customers if packaging is reduced
*Customers can think that products are now inferior as the packaging can be very attractive
