What are counselling points for Metformin?

A
  • Take with or after food to reduce stomach upset.
  • Swallow controlled release tablets whole
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you have loss of appetite, vomiting, abdominal pain, cramps, fatigue, diarrhoea, or weightloss
  • Drinking alcohol may affect control of your diabetes. May also increase serious side effects. Limit alcohol intake, don’t binge drink and eat food when you drink.
