It was a form of accounting beer in which they inscribed marks using a stylus. It is known as one of the oldest forms of writing.
What was the White Temple?
It was a temple built to the god Anu. It sat on top of a ziggurat and contained some of the earliest writing inside.
What was the Standard of Ur?
It was a piece of art that displayed the hierarchy of power in ancient Mesopotamia. There were two sides, one of peace and one of war. On the peace side, the lower citizens brought food and gifts to their King, the largest person at the top of the piece. The other side showed the people in battle and how they would protect and fight alongside their king.
What was the Stele Code of Hammurabi?
The piece was a script of the law code created by Hammurabi. Above the script was an image of Hammurabi and a god. The god is giving items to Hammurabi, displaying that his word comes from the gods.
What was the Ishtar Gate of Babylon?
The Ishtar Gate was dedicated to the Babylonian goddess Ishtar (also known as Inanna), associated with love, war, and fertility.
