Made in the Bronze Age. Found in Mycenae in a shaft grave. Made of gold. Two holes on ears indicate it was worn by deceased.
What does the West Pediment of the Parthenon show?
Competition between Poseidon and Athena to be patron of Athens. Barely any of the pediment has survived. Built in the 400 BCE area. Currently in British Museum
What does the East Pediment show?
Birth of Athena. This is shown by Zeus giving birth to Athena. She came from his head. Middle figures are missing. Read from left to right. Leftmost shows rising of the sun with Helios. Rightmost shows rising of the moon.
What are the myths of the metopes?
4 major wars. Greeks vs Amazons. Greeks vs Trojans. Gods vs Giants. Lapiths vs Centaurs.
