Hey syndrome as a result of inadequate blood flow through the mesenteric circulation leading to ischemia and gangrene of the bowel

A
Arterial or venous embolus or thrombosis Arthrosclerosis Smoking Usually occurs in older adults Coagulopathies such as that following recent surgery increases risk

Mesenteric infarcts signs/symptoms
A
Set an onset of cramping, colicky abdomen pain
Paint out of proportion to physical exam finding
Nausea and vomiting
Fever
Abdominal guarding and tenderness
Bowel sounds: hyper active to absent
Peritoneal findings increases as state progresses
Shock
