Merlot grape characteristics
Moderate and warm climates. Dry with medium acidity and tannins
Just-Ripe merlot
light to medium bodied wine; fresh red fruit and herbaceous

Medium to full body; cooked black fruit. Warm climates or later harvesting.

Moderate climate and high rainfall. Primarily the right bank.

Hawke’s bay - moderate climate with plenty of rainfalll. High range.
