Intensity- normal, blunted, exaggerated, flat, heightened
What is psychosis?
Mental health problem causing people to perceive or interpret things differently from those around them- may involve hallucinations or delusions
What is poverty of thought?
Global reduction in the quantity of thought
What is formal thought disorder?
A disturbance in one’s ability to generate a logical sequence of ideas, as indicated by disordered speech and/or writing.
What is thought blocking?
When a person’s speech is suddenly interrupted by silences that may last a few seconds to a minute or longer.
What is loosening of associations AKA KNIGHTS MOVE THINKING?
Muddled and illogical thinking that is reflected in a sentence which makes little to no sense
What is knight’s move thinking?
Jumping from topic to topic with no connection between them (Chess piece)
What is tangential thinking?
Wandering from the topic and never returning to it or providing the information requested
What is circumstantiality?
An inability to answer a question without giving excessive unnecessary detail
