Answer 1

Take the person into his or her care and control

Transport the person from place to place

Restrain the person and otherwise use force reasonable required.

Use reasonable force to break into a place where its require to take that person into care and control.

Search the persons clothing or possessions and remove anything that may cause harm to themselves or damage property.

When may a Police officer detain a person under section 57 MHA

When a Police officer BORG that

A patient assistance request has been issued

A patient transport request has been issued

A police officer BORG that the person is Absent With Out Leave

Or

It appears to a police officer

The person has a mental illness
and

The person has caused or there is significant risk of causing harm to hemselves or others

and

The person requires a medical examination.
