What is the purpose, duration and team involved in SECTION 2? (Plus reasoning)
P: assessment, (treatment without consent)
D: 28 days
T: AMHP and 2 doctors
R: Pt suffering from MHD warranting detention and detained for own H&S
What is the PDTR of SECTION 3?
P: Treatment
D: 6 months
T: 2x doctors and AMHP
R: Pt suffering from MHD to need medical treatment in hospital, interests of their H&S and appropriate treatment available
What is the PDTR of SECTION 4?
P: Emergency order
D: 72 hours
T: 1x doctor and AMHP
R: Not enough time for a 2nd doctor to assist, needs detaining for self and H&S
What is the PDTR of SECTION 5.4?
P: Nurse holding power until doctor can attend
D: 6 hours
T: Nurse
R: Can’t be treated coercively and for a MHD pt wanting to leave who’s already detained
What is the PDTR of SECTION 5.2?
P: Pt admitted but wants to leave
D: 72 hours
T: Doctor
R: allows time for S2/3 to be reinacted
What are SECTION 135/136 and team and why?
135: Needs court order to access pt’s home and remove them
136: Pt suspected of having mental disorder in work place
WHO: Police, sent to place of safety, needs S2/3 for further assessment
