Meninges Flashcards
What are dural venous sinuses?
Areas where the 2 layers of dura (periosteal and meningeal) SEPARATE to form channels
Meningeal coverings from most interior to most exterior
Pia mater, arachnoid, meningeal dura, periosteal dura
Real and potential spaces (interior to exterior)
Subarachnoid (real) – between pia and arachnoid; subdural (potential) between arachnoid and meningeal dura; epidural (potential) between skull and periosteal dura
Falx cerebri
Fold of dura between cerebral hemispheres: has superior sagittal and inferior sagittal sinuses
Tentorium cerebelli
Fold of dura between cerebrum and cerebellum
