Q

AO1 CES, what does it do
AO3 issue with it

A

CES focuses, divides and switches our limited attention through all slave systems
We don’t know much about the CES so it is more complicated to understand

Q

AO1 phonological loop
AO3 KF

A

Has articulatory rehearsal system which repeats sounds in a loop top keep them in store when they’re needed. They have limited capacity hence why it is easier to remember shorter words

KF motorbike accident, had issue with phonological loop, but was able to use his visuospatial sketchpad. He struggles with speech which had to do with phonological, proves there are sepetaye slave systems and shows we need both in order for humans to communicate

Q

AO1 visuospatial sketchpad
AO3 barely and hitch

A

Has cache which stores data and an inner scribe which records the arrangements of objects in the visual field
Dual task study, found poor recall when 2 space systems were working. Supports idea they work separately

Q

AO1 episodic buffer
AO3 Peterson and Peterson

A

Later added in the 2000 and it temporarily stores acoustic visual and spatial info integrated it combines the information from all systems and links to wide cognitive processes such as perception
PNP found that blocking rehearsal like disrupting could lead to poor integration between systems when revising we should avoid distractions as integration will suffer and we will have a poor recall
