Memory Procedures Flashcards
How to save a life
Takeoff Abort (FO)
- Remove feet from rudder pedals (if performing the takeoff) and respond “Your airplane.” (C)
- Maintain wings level with the ailerons as appropriate to wind conditions.
- Advise ATC of abort, if applicable.
- Request emergency equipment, if directed.
- Accomplish the emergency Evacuation Checklist on the IAC
- Accomplish the Engine Shutdown/Fire on Ground Checklist on the IAC
- Accomplish the Takeoff Abort Checklist in the E&A.
Engine Start Abort
- ______Condition Lever…..Fuel OFF
- Start SELECT switch…..CENTER
- Call for Engine Start Abort Checklist
Roll Control Jam
- Autopilot…..DISENGAGE
- If control is still jammed:
2a. ROLL DISC handle…..Pull and turn 90°
2b. Control wheels…..Both pilots attempt roll controls
2c. Aircraft control…..Pilot with free controls - Call for Roll Control Jam Checklist
Pitch Control Jam
- Autopilot…..DISENGAGE
- Retain flap setting and approximate airspeed at time of jam.
- If control still jammed:
3a. Both pilots attempt to control by force against Jam. - If unable to overcome jam:
4a. Control Column Force…..Relax
4b. PITCH Disconnect handle…..Pull and turn 90°
4c. Control Column…..Both pilots attempt pitch control
4d. Aircraft control…..Pilot with free control column - Call for Pitch Control Jam Checklist
O2 Mask Donning Procedure
- Headset…..Remove
- Oxygen mask…..Don
- If smoke or fumes are present:
3a. Regulator (if required)…..EMERGENCY - Communications…..Establish
4a. Headset…..ON
4b. HOT Mic…..OFF
4c. MASK/MIC switch…..MASK
A takeoff abort is required for:
- Takeoff warning horn.
- Failure of the A/F ARM message to illuminate on ED.
- Engine fire or failure.
- MASTER WARNING.
- Takeoff torque not obtained on either engine.
- Exceeding engine limitations.
- Windshear encounter.
- HGS failure, “TO WARN,” or loss of HGS symbology during takeoff below 500 RVR when the runway centerline is not in sight.
Engine start shall be aborted if
- Engine ITT approaches or exceeds 920°C
- NH is not in the green arc within 70 seconds of selecting Condition Lever to START & FEATHER, or
- Engine Oil Pressure fails to reach 44psi by start SELECT switch reset
Any time smoke or fumes are present, or a situation requiring supplemental oxygen occurs, _____.
Pilots will don the oxygen masks prior to conducting any other checklist
Either pilot, when detecting a situation (O2):
- Which could introduce smoke or fumes in the flightdeck, shall state, “Smoke - Don mask,” or
- Results in loss of cabin pressure above 10,000 MSL, shall state, “Oxygen - Don mask.”

Missed approach required unless:
• If the gear has been extended and landing is assured, the approach may be continued to a
single-engine landing provided:
- The approach is stable,
- There are no compounding mechanical or environmental conditions, and
- Both pilots agree landing is assured.
