FO Before Start Flow (Below the Line)
When the Captain states, “Below the line:”
• HYD #3 ISOL VLV – Press in (OPEN)
• Hydraulic Pressure – Check
• HYD #3 ISOL VLV – Press out (dark)
• Transponder – ON ALT
• After Captain selects batteries – All On, verify:
- MAIN BUS TIE is selected to TIE, and
- MAIN BATTERY, AUX BATTERY, and STBY BATTERY caution
lights are extinguished on the annunciator panel

FO Engine Start Procedure
• APU BL AIR – Press out (dark)
• RECIRC Fan – OFF
• Start SELECT switch – Select 1 or 2 (as appropriate)
• START pushbutton – Press momentarily
When NH rotation is indicated:
• Condition Lever – START & FEATHER
• Engine start – Monitor
After Start SELECT switch reset:
• First Officer selects:
- BLEED 1 or 2 (as appropriate) ON after each engine start
- RECIRC Fan to RECIRC after starter reset on second engine
After SELECT light extinguishes:
• Allow MAIN BATT Load to decrease to .40 or lower prior to starting
other engine.
• Repeat Start Procedure for other engine.
If APU was used for engine start, shut down APU after both engines are
started:
• GEN (if illuminated) – Press out (dark)
• PWR (if RUN light illuminated) – Press out (dark)
Shut down APU.
Pilot Monitoring Engine Start:
• Verify Oil Pressure rises and ENG OIL PRESS warning extinguishes.
• Verify ENG FUEL PRESS and ENG HYD PUMP caution lights
extinguish.
• Monitor Ground Services Agent and aircraft environment for any
abnormal conditions that would require engine shutdown.

FO After Start
• Verify engine START and SELECT lights are extinguished
• BLEED Flow Control – As required (MIN is normal)
• RECIRC Fan – Verify RECIRC
• #2 MFD (ELECTRICAL) – Check
• HYD #3 ISOL VLV – Press in (OPEN)
• Elevator Travel – Check on PFCS
• Ailerons and Roll Spoilers – Check on PFCS
• HYD #3 ISOL VLV – Press out (dark)
After both AC GEN caution lights have extinguished:
• FLAPS – Set for takeoff
• STBY HYD PRESS – Press in (ON)
• PTU CONTROL – Press in (ON)
• Hydraulic Pressure – Check
• TANK 1 and 2 AUX PUMP switches – Press in (ON)
• MTOP switch (if used) – Press in (select)
• AUTOFEATHER switch – Press in (select)
• ESID Control Panel – Select #2 MFD to NAV
• DEICE PRESS 1 and 2 indicator – Check

• If ATC clearance not received at gate or if amended:
- Record ATC Clearance/Amendment
- Revise FMS Flight Plan as required
• Make the Flight Attendant PA announcement
• YD (Yaw Damper) – On
• F/D Command – Verify correct/re-synch HDG
At least one minute prior to takeoff:
• BLEED Flow Control – MIN

* HGS Annunciator Panel – Check

PM 10,000ft
• Cabin Chime – Press
• Event Marker – Press for approximately one second
• Pressurization – Check
• LANDING APPROACH and FLARE, WING INSP, POSN (normally
off for day operations), and LOGO Lights – OFF
• WINDSHIELD HEAT – Select NORM
• FASTEN BELTS – OFF (at Captain discretion)

PM After Takeoff
After liftoff when “Gear up” commanded by PF:
• Landing Gear handle – Select UP
At Acceleration Height, when “Flaps zero – climb power” commanded by
PF:
• FLAPS – Select flaps UP incrementally one notch at the time to 0°
detent
• MTOP switch (if used) – Press out
• Condition Levers – Slide aft one detent to PROPS 900
• BLEED 1 and 2 – Confirm On
• BLEED Flow Control – NORM
• When FLAP indicates 0°, call “Flap Zero”
When the PF calls “After Takeoff Checklist,” workload permitting:
• AUTOFEATHER switch – Press out (dark)
• TANK 1 and 2 AUX PUMP switches – Press out (dark)
• STBY HYD PRESS switch – Press out (dark)
• PTU CNTRL switch – Press out (dark)
• NO SMOKING switch – Select OFF
• Pressurization – Confirm normal pressurization
• TAXI switch – OFF/PULSE
• Ice Protection – As required

When PF commands “Set cruise”:
• Condition Levers – Slide aft to PROPS 850
• MCR rating ED – Verify
• Target cruise speed (if requested by PF) – Determine
• Cabin Differential Pressure – Check
• Cabin Altitude – Check

• WINDSHIELD HEAT – Select OFF Only if SAT is 10°C or greater and windshield is clear • LANDING APPROACH lights – On • LANDING FLARE lights – On • TAXI switch – PULSE • WING INSP lights – On for Night operations • POSN lights – On for night operations • LOGO LIGHT – On for night operations • FASTEN BELTS – On • Altimeter BARO SET –Verify set • Displays – Set • ARCDUs – Set • Cabin CHIME – Press • MFD Reasonableness Check

When PF calls “Flaps (Landing) – Below the line:”
• FLAPS – Verify landing flaps (15° or 35°) on #2 MFD
• FMS (both) – Verify NAV page displayed on both FMSs
• BLEED 1 and 2 – As required
• REF SPEEDS switch – Set
• Read Landing Checklist
When complete, state “Landing Checklist complete.”
• Prior to landing (at night), TAXI light switch – TAXI

After Landing
After the nosewheel crosses the landing runway hold short line, clearing
the runway:
• Flaps – UP
• Radar – STBY
• BLEED 1 and 2 (if selected off for landing) – ON
• BLEED selector – As desired
