Q

What is Craik and Lockhart’s levels of processing model?

A

the model explains how memory works and opposes the view that there are set memory stores. If info is considered deeply then the memory of it is likely to last a longer time.

Q

According to Craik and Lockhart, how do we remember info for longer?

A

If it’s considered, understood and has meaning to us. Also the deeper the info is processed, the longer the memory lasts.

Q

Pros and Cons of multi store memory model?

A

Pros = simplifies memory process, explains how those with brain damage may have dysfunctional memory showing difference between short and long term
Cons = doesn’t explain why we remember different types of info,

Q

Pros and Cons of Craik and Lockharts level of processing approach?

A

Pros = explains why info that is understood is more likely to be remembered and the longer we consider info the more it’s remembered
Cons = longer processing doesn’t always lead to better recall, doesn’t take into account individual differences
