Memory Models Flashcards
1
Q
What is the role of the detection, comparison and recognition (DCR) phase when processing information
A
This phase is used to decide what type of response to make after identifying the stimulus.
2
Q
What is schema
A
A novel response which solves a problem that has occurred. And is a generalised motor programme (GMP), set of memories/instructions which have been set from previous experiences. These can be adapted to aid your performance.
3
Q
What are the 3 ways schema allows us to adapt
A
- Changing the sequence of muscle contractions.
- Force of muscle contractions.
- Timing of what the contractions are doing.
4
Q
What is involved in recall schema
A
- Initial conditions
- Response specification
(Producing movement)
5
Q
What is involved in recognition schema
A
- Sensory consequences
- The outcome
(Judging the movement)
