Memory Items Flashcards
Cabin Altitude / Depressurisation
- Put on oxygen mask
- Establish crew communication
- Check the cabin altitude and rate
- IF the cabin altitude is uncontrollable :
i. Passenger oxygen masks …. PUSH & hold 1 sec
ii. WITHOUT DELAY, descend to the lowest safe altitude
or 15,000ft (10,000ft if fuel endurance not an issue)
If on NAT track, R5 or L5 in FMC, otherwise heading
set something lower in MCP alt
FLCH
Open speed window, if not structural, increase speed
full speedbrake
ensure thrust levers IDLE
Finesse - set 10,000 or 15,000
Fire eng L / R
- A/T Arm Switch …. confirm …. OFF
- Thrust Lever …. confirm …. IDLE
- Fuel Control Switch …. confirm …. CUTOFF
- Fire Switch …. confirm…. PULL, ROTATE to stop for 1 sec
if after 30 seconds, fire warning persists…
Fire Switch … rotate to other side, hold for 1 second
Stabiliser
Stabiliser cutoff switch (both)… CUTOFF
Do not exceed the current speed
Eng autostart L / R
Fuel control cutoff switch … CUTOFF
Airspeed Unreliable
Disconnect autopilot Autothrottle disconnect Autothrottle arms switches off If flaps out... pitch to 10º 85% N1 If clean ... pitch to 4º and 70%
Dual Eng Fail / Stall
Fuel control cutoff switchs …. CUTOFF then RUN
Ram air turbine … PUSH and hold for 1 second
Eng limit / surge / stall L, R
A/T arm switches …. confirm …. OFF
Thrust lever …. confirm …. reduce until the engine indications stay within limits or the thrust lever is at idle
Approach to stall or stall recovery
Smoothly apply nose down elevator to reduce AoA
Roll wings level if needed
Advance thrust levers as needed
Retract the speedbrakes
Do not change gear or flap (except during liftoff if flaps up,
select F1)
GPWS Caution; “CAUTION OBSTACLE/TERRAIN”, “SINK RATE”, “TERRAIN”, “DON’T SINK”, “TOO LOW GEAR/FLAPS/TERRAIN”, “GLIDESLOPE”, “BANKANGLE”
Correct flight path or the airplane configuration. Confirm MOA / MSA.
GPWS Warning; “PULL UP”, “OBSTACLE OBSTACLE PULL UP”, “TERRAIN TERRAIN PULL UP” with red PULL UP on PFD and master warning
Disconnect AP Disconnect AT Full thrust Roll wings level & pitch to 20º Check speedbrake stowed If terrain still threat, PLIs / stick shaker / buffet Do no change gear or flap config Monitor radio altitude
Rejected Take Off “Things I can stop for”
FO can call stop for 4 things as PNF : - fire of fire warning - engine failure - predictive windshear alert - RAAS runway alert additionally, when PF : - significant handling difficultly - blocked runway
RTO manoeuvre
Close thrust levers & disconnect AT
Max manual brakes or verify RTO brakes
If Autobrake message appears, max manual brakes
TCAS
Disconnect AP
Disconnect AT
Smoothly adjust pitch to satisfy RA command
Follow planned lateral path
TCAS in landing config
Disconnect AP
Disconnect AT
Thrust levers fully forward
Call “Flaps 20”
Smoothly adjust pitch to satisfy the RA
Follow the planned lateral path unless visual requires something else
Call positive gear in response to positive rate
Nose High Upset recovery
Disconnect the AP
Disconnect the AT
Recover :
- Nose down elevator (as much as need to get nose down)
- Apply appropriate nose down elevator trim
- Reduce thrust
- Roll (adjust bank angle) to obtain nose down
- When approaching the horizon, roll wings level
- Check airspeed and thrust
- Establish pitch attitude
