Q

Does KF support or contradict the working memory model?

A

Supporting because it proves that there are different types of STM because he could process visual information but not verbal information.
Therefore showing that the phonological loop is damaged not the visuospatial sketch pad

Q

What is an evaluation point for the WMM that includes the central executive?

A

There is a lack of clarity over the central executive, it is just said that it is ‘attention’

Q

Explain dual task performance as an evaluation for the WMM

A

Dual task performance proves the theory of different sub sections of STM. This because a ppt was asked to complete 2 tasks. They could successfully complete an auditory task and visual at the same time. However they struggled when it was 2 of the same task

Q

Explain brain scans as an evaluation for WMM

A

Braver et al - gave tasks involving the central executive and scanned them
There were activity in the prefrontal cortex when the tasks were completed and this increased as the difficulty increased
