A
> Leading to abnormal transport of ingesta
Accumulation of ingesta causes stretching and dilatation
Origin can be neurological or muscular

A
> Regurgitation
Congenital form: Appear as the animal is being weaned
Acquired form: Can appear at any time

What is the diagnosis of Megaesophagus
A
> History of regurgitation associated with meals
> Plain or contrast thoracic radio graphs

What is the treatment of Megaesophagus
A
> Identify and treat the primary cause
Palliative: Meet the animals nutritional needs while avoiding aspiration pneumonia
Elevated feeding
Esophageal surgery has not proven very sucessful
