What is the definition of meditaion and what does it allow one to do?
- -def. focusing the mind and directing attention
- allows you to listen to the music and thoughts of your inner self
- wakeful hypometabolic state
What is the difference between concentrative and non-concentrative meditation techniques?
concentrative–focus attention on a repetitve stimulus
–non-concentrative: expand attention to include non-judgemental observation of mental activities

What is a mantra?
-a sound or phrase that is repeated verbally or silently that focuses the mind and allows one to enter into and maintain a meditative state
What are the physiologic effects of meditation?
- decreased sympathetic activity
- increases alpha and theta waves
- decreases beta waves
- decrease blood lactate
- increases DHEA-S
Benefits of meditation?
-Basically a whole bunch of good shit, if it is good and you can think of it then meditation does it.
