negative- invaded and did not take care of the people. The Harrying of the North- brutally attacked north, Feudal system, Domesday book, people rebelled a lot

positive to negative-at first welcomed, people became jealous and disliked them as they were non-christians. made us of money-lending skills, settled in towns/trading ports, helped economy, autonomy- made synagogues, anti semitism

positive- highly respected/rich. special status of royal protection, hugely successful/wealthy, christians like english, loaned money to kings.

positive- contributed to economy. settled into south, own skills/knowledge, autonomy- taught english their skills (weavers) very successful

economic- money used to build castles, tower of london etc. and weapons; lent money to local people/businesses/merchants to help trade/building/business

cloth exported/ became world famous, main source of englands wealth, trade grew, economy moved from primary to secondary
what was the impact of the lombardy in england
loaned money to help finance trade, construction helped fund english forces in hundred year’s wars, started to turn london into international financial market
