Ondansetron (Zofran) on-dan-se-tron
Used to treat mild to moderate pain. Monitor for hepatotoxicity. May be given in the postop phase to decrease pain and need for narcotic pain medication.
Acetaminophen (IV)- Ofirmev
Used to treat mild to moderate pain. Use cautiously in patients with bleeding issues. Often given as schedule doses for the first 24 hours following surgery to decrease pain.
Ibuprofen IV (Caldalor)
These medications result in sedation. They do not relieve pain, but help the patient relax. One has a therapeutic amnesic effect and is often used in surgery. In addition these medications can be used to treat seizure activity. Monitor for CNS depression. Romazicon is antidote.

Short acting sedative, primarily used for the induction and maintenance of anesthesia. Discard if discolored or separated. No reversal agent.
Propofol (Diprivan)
Decreases the risk of treats infection. Often used for surgical site infection (SSI) prophylaxis. Be sure to monitor of allergy, especially if allergic to PCN.
Cefazolin (Ancef) sef-a-zoe-lin
Used to treat fungal infections, closely monitor kidney function and electrolytes

Used for the treatment and prevention of DVT, Monitor the PTT level (30-45 seconds), therapeutic is 1.5 to 2 times normal level, watch for bleeding, teaching is very important.
