Magnesium sulfate
indications: treatment/prevention of hypomagnesemia.. treatment of hypertension. Prevention of seizures associated with severe eclampsia, pre-eclampsia, or cute nephritis.
Adverse effects: decreased respiratory rate, arrhythmias, bradycardia, hypotension, hypothermia
methyldopa
indications: management of moderate to severe hypertension (with other agents)
adverse reactions: myocarditis, edema, orthostatic hypotension, hemolytic anemia.
Labetalol
indications: management of hypertension.
Adverse reactions: mental status changes, intraoperative floppy iris syndrome, bronchospasm, arrhythmias, CHF, pulmonary edema, orthostatic hypotension, hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia.
estonogestrel implant
implanon, nexplanon
Indications: Prevention of pregnancy, regulation menstrual cycle. 3 years
Adverse Reactions: optic neuritis, retinal thrombosis, thromboembolism (risk is greatest during first 6 months of therapy or after restarting the same or different therapy), edema, hypertension, raynaud’s phemomenon, thrombophlebitis, pancreatitis, cholestatic jaundice, gallbladder disease, liver tumors.
hydralazine
indications: moderate to severe hypertension (with a diuretic). Unlabeled use: HF unresponsive to conventional therapy with digoxin and diuretics.
Adverse reactions: dizziness, drowsiness, headache, tachycardia, angina, arrhythmias, edema, orthostatic hypotension, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rash, arthralgias, arthritis, peripheral neuropathy, drug-induced lupus syndrome.
Nifedipine (adalat cc)
indications: management of hypertension (extended-release only), angina pectoris, vasopastic (Prinzetal’s) angina. Unlabeled use: prevention of migraine headache. Management of HF or cardiomyopathy.
Adverse Reactions: psychiatric disturbances, blurred vision, epistaxis, tinnitus, dyspnea, arrhythmias, HF, peripheral edema, hypotension, palpitations, syncope, tachycardia, increased liver enzymes,
ketorolac tromethamine (sprix)
Indications: short-term management of pain (not to exceed 5 days total for all route combined)
adverse reactions:, anaphylaxis, HF, myocardial infarction, stroke, edema, vasodialation, GI bleeding, renal toxicity, stevens-johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, uticaria, hyperkalemia, prolonged bleeding time.
Naloxone (Evzio, Narcan)
indications: reversal of CNS depression and respiratory depression because of suspected opioid overdose. Unlabled use: opioid induced pruritus (low-dose IV infusion), management of refractory circulatory shock.
Adverse reactions: ventricular arrhythmias, hypertension, hypotension,
Medroxyprogesterone (Depo-Provera, Depo subQ Provera 104)
Indications: Prevention of pregnancy, regulation menstrual cycle. Every 3 months.

Levonorgestrel (Plan B)
indications: prevention of pregnancy. emergency contraception
Adverse Reactions: uterine imbedment/uterine rupture, , rential thrombosis, thromboembolism, edema, hypertension, raynaud’s phenomenon, thrombophlebitis, pancreatitis, abnormal cramps, bloating, cholestatic jaundice, gallbladder disease, liver tumors, hyperglycemia, weight change.
Terbutaline sulfate
Indications: management of reversible airway disease due to asthma or COPD; inhalation and subcut used for short-term control and oral agent as long-term control. Unlabeled use: Management of pre-term labor (tocolytic)
Adverse Reactions: Pulmonary edema, angina, arrhythmias, hypertension, myocardial ischemia, tachycardia, hyperglycemnia, hypokalemia.
oxytocin (Pitocin)
Indications: induction of labor at term, facilitation of threatened abortion and postpartum control of bleeding after expulsion of the placenta.
Adverse reactions: MOM- Coma, seizures, abruotio placentae . fetal- intracranial hemorrhage, asphyxia, arrhythmias
calcium gluconate
indications: treatment and prevention of hypocalcemia
Adverse reactions: cardiac arrest, arrhythmias, hypercalcemia.
Betamethasone
Indications: Used systemically and locally in a wide variety of chronic diseases including inflammatory, allergic, hematologic, neoplastic and autoimmune disorders.
Adverse Reactions: Hypertension, Peptic ulceration, eccymoses, Pheochromocytoma, thromboembolism, adrenal suppression
erythromycin eye ointment
used in newborn. redness
