Federal program that provides health insurance for those who are older than 65, those under 65 with disability and those with end stage renal failure
Part A
Covers in patient hospital care. There is no out of pocket fee for this
Part B
This is an out patient medical supplement that is deducted from one’s social security check. Approx. 107.91$ a month
Part C
Private company insurance that is available to those who have A and B and who wish to supplement that coverage. For example, Medicare Advantage
Part D
Additional coverage for prescription drugs
What is not covered
eye glasses, hearing aids, cosmetic surgery, long term care like custodial care,
Custodial care
helps with around the house items. Like bathing, errands driving etc
Skilled Care
Requires a skilled nurse or doctor to assist them with medication or serious health care.
