Define Medical Emergencies
ANY CONDITION MANIFESTING ITSELF BY ACUTE SYMPTOMS OF SUFFICIENT SEVERITY (INCLUDING SEVERE PAIN) SUCH THAT THE ABSENCE OF IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION COULD REASONABLY BE EXPECTED TO RESULT IN PLACING THE PATIENT’S HEALTH IN SERIOUS JEORPARDY, SERIOUS IMPAIRMENT TO BODY FUNCTIONS OR ORGAN DYSFUNCTIONS.
Right of patient to emergency medical care
EVERY PATIENT HAS THE RIGHT TO RECEIVE EMERGENCY CARE @ ANY LICENCED FACILITY WITH AN EMERGENCY ROOM
EVERY PATIENT
HAS THE RIGHT TO BE TREATED UNTIL HIS/HER EMERGENCY CONDITION IS STABLE WHEN HE GOES TO HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM
EVERY PATIENT HAS THE RIGHT TO BE INFORMED BY THE HOSPITAL OF HIS RIGHT TO RECEIVE EMERGENCY SERVICES WITHOUT REGARD TO HIS ABILITY TO PAY, PRIOR TO BEING TRANSFERRED OR DISCHARGED
RIGHT NOT TO BE TRANSFERRED FROM AN EMERGENCY CARE FACILITY AGAINST HIS WILL
5) RIGHT TO SEEK FOR TRANSFER TO ANOTHER HEALTH FACILITY IF HE/SHE PERCEIVES THAT HE/SHE IS NOT HAVING OPTIMUM CARE FOR HIS/HER EMERGENCY CONDITION
