What is hypotension?
Low blood pressure
What are the risk factors for hypotension?
Pregnancy, medical conditions, medications, blood loss, dehydration
What are some symptoms of hypotension?
Feeling lightheaded, feeling sick, blurry vision, confusion, fainting
What is hypertension?
High blood pressure
What are risk factors of hypertension?
Age, weight, lack of exercise, smoking, high salt diet
What are some symptoms of hypertension?
Can contribute to CHD, COPD and strokes
What is coronary heart disease?
Caused by blockages in the coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle. These blockages restrict the blood flow to the heart
What are risk factors of coronary heart disease?
Age, smoking, hypertension, diabetes, high levels of cholesterol
What are some symptoms of coronary heart disease
Chest pain, heart attacks, heart failure
What is a stroke?
Caused by restricted blood flow to the brain- usually by a blood clot
What are risk factors for stroke?
Smoking, hypertension, overweight, diabetes, high levels of cholesterol
What are some symptoms of stroke?
Face drooping, slurred speech, paralysis, Blurred vision, confusion, loss of consciousness
What is COPD?
A group of conditions that affect the lungs- can include damage to the alveoli and long term inflammation to the bottom
What are the risk factors of COPD?
Smoking, exposure to fumes, exposure to dust, air pollution, genetic deficiency of protein
What are the symptoms of COPD?
Breathlessness, chesty cough, chest infections, wheezing
