How do transducers work?
A
Alternating PD is applied to piezoelectric crystals causing them to stretch/compress. This sends out ultrasound in pulses. Once the ultrasound has been reflected back it causes the crystals to oscillate so an alternating PD is produced.

What has a great attenuation coefficient bone or soft tissue?
A
Bone has a greater coefficient and therefore appears more clearly on the ultrasound scan.
