  3. PROVIDE CARE ON THE X.
  4. ADMINISTER HEMORRHAGE CONTROL
  5. TRANSPORT CASUALTY, WEAPON, MISSION ESSENTIAL EQUIP, TO SAFE LOCATION. (IF SIT PERMITS)
  6. RE-CHECK BLEEDING CONTROL AS THE SITUATION PERMITS
    * GOAL- STOP BLEEDING AND/OR ELIMINATE PULSE.

TACTICAL FIELD CARE

A

*OCCURS WHEN YOU & THE CASUALTY ARE SAFE & NO LONGER UNDER HOSTILE FIRE.

  1. Form a general impression of the casualty as you approach (extent of injury & chance of survival)
  2. Check for responsiveness
  3. Position the casualty and open airway.
  4. Assess for breathing & chest injuries.
  5. Identify and control breathing.
  6. Check for fractures.
  7. Check for burns.
  8. Administer pain medications and antibiotics to any soldier wounded in Combat. (Casualty Combat Pill Pack.)
  9. Document injuries on the casualty’s TC3 card.

TACTICAL EVACUATION CARE (CASEVAC)

A
  1. Care is rendered while the casualty is awaiting pickup or is being transported.
  2. A soldier accompanying an unconscious casualty should monitor the casualty airway, breathing, & bleeding.

M.A.R.C.H

A

M: Massive hemorrhage
(Peel, push, pile, pressure+ pack towards heart+ direct pressure held for 3 minutes.)
A: Airway
(Is the airway open? + Can they breathe? + head tilt/ chin lift/ or jaw thrust + inspect jaw for debris)
R: Respiratory
(Bear claw entire front & back + identify holes + look, listen, feel + chest rise/ fall + bubbling blood)
* DO NOT pack chest & abdominal.
C: Circulation
(Check for altered mental status + weak radial pulse + active breathing)
H: Head Injury/ Hypothermia
(Apply shock blanket, take off wet clothing, keep off ground, keep dry, take weapon if necessary.)
(Check for bruising behind ears, fluid leaking from ears/nose, unequal bruising.)
