Q

If there is an odd number of values, how do you determine position of the middle value?

A

Add 1 to the number of values and then divide this value by 2, and this is the middle position

The median is the value at the middle position

Q

If there is an even number of values, how do you determine position of the middle value?

A

Divide the number of values by 2. This number and the number after it are the middle two values.

The median is the mean of the two middle values

10
Q

Find the median

A

Since there are 2 middle numbers, we add the 2 numbers and divide this value by 2

8 + 9 = 17

17/2 = 8.5

Q

Find the median

A

Since there are 2 middle numbers, we add the 2 numbers and divide this value by 2
