Medial thigh muscles: SUPERFICIAL Flashcards
Insertion of pectineus?
Femur (pectineal line and the proximal linea aspera)
Innervation of pectineus?
Femoral n, obturator n.
L2, L3
Action of pectineus?
Hip joint: adduction, external rotation, and slight flexion
Stabilizes pelvis in coronal and sagittal plane
Origin of adductor longus?
Superior pubic ramus and anteiror side of the pubic symphysis
Insertion of adductor longus?
Femur (linea aspera, medial lip in middle third of femur)
Innervation of adductor longus?
Obturator n.
L2-L4
Action of adductor longus/brevis?
Hip joint: adduction and flexion (up to 70 degrees); extension (past 80 degrees of flexion)
Stabilizes pelvis in coronal/sagittal plane
Origin of adductor brevis?
Inferior pubic ramus
Innervation of adductor brevis and gracilis?
Obturator n.
L2, L3
Origin of gracilis?
Inferior pubic ramus below pubic symphysis
Insertino of gracilis?
Tibia (medial border of the tuberosity, along w/ the tendons of sartorius and semitendenous)
Action of gracilis?
Hip joint: adduction and flexion
Knee joint: flexion and internal rotation
Origin of pectineus?
Pecten pubis
Insertion for adductor brevis?
Superior 1/3 of linea aspera on femur
