Medial PFC Flashcards
When Chris referred to the medial PFC in the lecture he was referring mostly to clusters __ & __ on the cingulate cortex connectivity map i.e. ___ ___ cingulate cortex (CC). What is this map?
4 & 5. Dorsal anterior. A map which divides cingulate cortex up into areas which connect to similar places.
Where is the cingulate cortex in relation to the corpus callosum and the dorsomedial PFC?
ACC is just above the corpus callosum, contains an anterior & posterior region & is just below the dorsomedial PFC
Brodmann’s areas 6, 8 & 9 represent the dorsomedial PFC. Brodman’s areas __ and __ represent ACC
24, 32
Although mPFC has a similar ___ in humans & macaques, this does not imply that the region has equivalent functions in both species
Morphology
Give the names of 2 tasks for which we tend to be aware when we have made an error
The Stroop task (name the ink colour rather than the word) & Eriksen Flanker task (respond to the central arrow rather than the surrounding arrows)
Name 3 other lab tasks which tend to (or can be designed to) give rise to errors
1) The Simon task (we are slower to make a leftwards response to a stimulus presented in the right VF). 2) Go/no go task (it’s difficult to not respond to the rarely presented letter e.g. X). 3) Stop-signal task (it’s difficult to respond to a rarely presented stop sign presented a while after the usual go cue)
The Simon task, go/no go task & stop-signal task each measure 1), 2) & 3) respectively - what are 1), 2) & 3)?
1) Interference inhibition, 2) Action withholding & 3) Action cancellation
The ERN is calculated by subtracting the ERP during an ___ trial from the ERP during a ___ trial. The X axis ascends by ___ ms each time and the Ne occurs at 0ms i.e. when the ___ is made
Incorrect subtracted from correct. 200ms. Response
