What is the mediatisation of politics?
A process that increases the importance and influence of media in all aspects of political life
Where does mediatisation occur?

Name the 4 features of mediatisation
extension = extends human connection over time
substitution = of social activities/institutions
amalgamation = boundaries between media and non-media dissolves
accommodation = adaptive response by actors
What are the three dimensions of media?
Information = vital for political communication
Autonomy = has gradually become more autonomous from party influence
Logic = professionalism, commercialism, technology
politicians follow media logic - perceive the media as important, change their structure and behaviour to adapt
