What is the impact of television
Firstly, television was (and still is) a major part in people’s everyday entertainment
- it has become an integral and common part of many people’s lives due to it’s prominence and commonality in many homes
- It has also had a large influence on culture and the social lives of many, for example, in the 1970s, American television began to diversify the families featured in their shows, showing more divorce or single parenting which changing many social attitudes directed towards that
What changes has television faced
1950s-
NTSC developed a colour system for the electronic television (first colour broadcast in 1954)
1990-2000s-
The digital television was developed (which had better image quality and less frequency requirements)
What is catfishing
Catfishing refers to when a person takes information and images, typically from other people, and uses them to create a new identity for themselves and using that fake identity to trick you into believing you’re in a real online friendship or romance with them
How does it highlight the dangers of social media (Catfishing)

- Identity theft
- They can be bullied/ blackmailed
Catfishing highlights that anyone can do and be almost anyone they want and that they can easily get away with it. It shows that there are many risks to joining social media
