- He has a dark whimiscal aesthetic which is often
paired with hyper exaggerated worlds like in Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice - He relies a lot on his darker shades to create the dark fantasy elements that surround the characters
- The character designs can include very pale skin, dramatic
outfits, at times peculiar hair styles and contrasting to the ‘average’ extra or supporting cast

When Creating A Time Loop Video What Were The Key Things You Did?
When creating a time loop it was essential to ensure that…
- the repeated scenes were precise, meaning that things that were meant to stay the same were kept the same
- if there was a certain location, that had to be kept into the filming to ensure consistency
- the storyboarding had to be slightly more detailed to understand the difference between the different scenes as many of them would incorporate the same elements
What Is Sweding?
Sweding is when you recreate a famous film, scene or film trailer using household objects, homemade props, and a lot of imagination
What Did You Do With Your Swede?
We sweded the first scene from Ghostbusters Frozen Empire when a group of firefighters enter a icy room with a large group of frozen people.
We used the library doors to replicate the ones in the film, using blank sheets of paper as ice and editing in a darker more mysterious atmosphere as well as extra cartoon icicles
(Your) Definition Of The Meaning In Film
The meaning in film is a story or message that is trying to be conveyed to the audience, whether it be fast paced action or slow and meaningful romance, every film has a meaning that is unique but also subjective to the audience, opening many doors to personal interpretation and connection
The Role Of Film In Society
Film is used as a medium to cultural expression (reflecting beliefs, values and more) of many societies, represent themes such as family and tackle, address (or change) social norms/ issues, such as how women are portrayed in society, ultimately they are powerful tools for one to express themselves and give meaningful messages
Time Loops
A situation in which a period of time is repeated, usually for the central character
Structuring Of Time In ‘Before I Fall’
The time in Before I Fall, the time loops are set in one day, restarting at the end or it (when she closes her eyes). The time is structured in a very key way to ensure that practically all scenes that are shown are repeated every time the time loops this makes the new scenes more engaging and interesting as it is something she is changing, like when she spends a day with her sister. The structuring of the time loop was specifically one day for that similarity for the audience, having a week would be impossible to fully show and an hour does not have as much substance or difference (not THAT much can be changed nor explored in an hour)
- Loops Are Set In One Day
- Structure Is Key To Ensure Particular Scenes Are Shown, Repeated And New
- Structuring Of Time Loop Is Specifically One Day (Why It Is Bad To Have More Or Less Time (Film Wise))
Themes Vs Motifs
Theme - is the central idea or message that a film conveys to its audience
Motif - is a recurring element (image, symbol, sound, or idea) that supports the theme
