Two rules of animation
Anticipation is used to prepare the audience for a major action or movement.
For example, an animated character may raise their arm before throwing a ball to create anticipation for the throw
Exaggeration is a commonly used technique in animation to create a more dynamic and expressive animation.
Animators may exaggerate the movement or expressions of a character to create a more dramatic effect
Examples of ROA in ‘Coraline’
Anticipation-
When Miss Spink/ Forcible are up on the trapeze and there’s a pause before they jump
Exaggeration-
Mr Bobo generic movements and jumping are over exaggerated (because of his character)
