Meaures Of Central Tendency Flashcards
Bimodal
When 2 entries occur with the same greatest frequency , each entry is a mode and the data set is a bimodal.
Grouped Data
Mean
The mean of data set is the sim of the data entries divided by the numbers of entries.
Uses a formula, either the population mean or sample mean.
Median
The median of a data set is the value that lies in the middle of the data when the data set is ordered.
It measures the center of an ordered data set by dividing it into 2 equal parts.
Mode
Is the data entry that occurs with the greatest frequency.
A data set can have one mode, more than one mode or no mode.
When the data entry is repeated, the data set has no mode.
Measure of Central Tendency
Is a valve that represents a typical, or central, entry of data set.
3 most common central tendency are the
Mean, the Median, and the Mode
Outlier
Is a data entry that is far removed from the other entries in the data set.
The mean can be greatly affected by data sets that contain outlier.
