Why was the International Property Measurement Standards (IPMS) brought in?
To ensure assets are measured in a consistent way, and create a more transparent and standardised marketplace.
How do you ensure a laser measurer is calibrated?
ensuring it is sent back to the manufacturer annually.
Compare the measurement results with those of a tape measure.
What is the difference between IPMS 3 and NIA?
IPMS includes the following:
1. measure to the internal dominant facing perimeter
2. includes internal columns and walls
3. include eaves height less than 1.5m
4. include balconies that are extensive but stated separately.

How would you measure industrial?
GIA
What is GIA?
The sum of the area of each floor, measured to the internal perimeter
What is the internal dominant face?
The inside finished surface compromising 50% or more the surface of the perimeter wall.

What is the dimensions of a brick?
215mm x 65mm x 102.5mm
What is the Ridge Height?
The point where the roof and wall meets.
What is net frontage?
the width of the internal perimeter.
