Ask patient to remove shoes and any outer clothing or heavy items and place a paper towel on the scale platform.

Assist patient up, make sure head is facing back towards the scale and if needed ask patient to stay still.

Move lower weight bar by 50 lb increments and then move upper weight bar until scale is balanced

Raise the height thingy way above the patient, raise the ledge thingy and bring it down until it rests on the patients head.
