Define a meter:

A

A meter is a unit of measurement designing length decided in the beginning of the 19th century. The measure became more precise with the advance of technology, but it was first officially declared as being 1 000 000 000th
(one billionth) of the line representing the distance between the North Pole and the Equator that was perpendicular (made a right angle with) to the Equator and that passed by Paris, the city that decided this.
