Generalized Anxiety (Scale A)

Aids examiner in determining the increased likelihood of a more classic psychosomatic presentation, individuals high on scale may use physical appearance or fear of illness and physical ailment as unworkable outlet for pain and dissatisfaction
Persistent Depression (Scale D)
helps to identify a pronounced experience of defeat, apathy, and helplessness, indicates patterns of overall ineffectiveness in problem solving, planning, and interpersonal functioning
Bipolar Spectrum (Scale N)
helps to identify the presence of manic symptoms which can range from flight of ideas and inflated sense of self-worth to disorganized psychotic experiences
Alcohol Use (Scale B)
current or recent alcohol abuse or dependence
Post-Traumatic Stress (Scale R)
aids in identifying the presence of avoidance, excessive fear, and intrusive private events as related to a directly or vicariously experienced traumat8c event
