Qualitative vs quantitate data

Qualitative date:
- non-numerical data
- Explores attitudes and behaviour in-depth
- harder to compare
Quantitative data:
- numerical data
- Faster and easier
- reliable and comparable information

Primary vs secondary data
A
Primary data is first-hand data collected for the purpose of the investigation. Secondary data is information that has been collected by someone other than the person who is conducting the research e.g. taken from journals, books or articles.

What are distributions and skews in data
A
- A skewed distribution is one where data is not spread evenly on a graph (i.e. normally distributed); the data is clustered at one end.
-Data that is positively skewed has a long tail that extends to the right.
-Data that is negatively skewed have a long tail that extends to the left.
