Q

What is the divisibility rule for 7

A

Multiply the last digit by 2 and subtract that number from the first number (without that last digit). If the result is divisible by 7, then the whole number is divisible.

Q

What is the HCF and how do you work it out?

A

The HCF is the Highest Common Factor. In order to work it out, you would need to list all the factors of the two numbers and put them in a venn diagram. Once you have found all of the common factors, you multiply all of them together.

Q

What is the LCM and how do you work it out?

A

LCM is a maths abbreviation that stands for Lowest Common Multiple. In order to work this out, you would need to multiply all the factors of both numbers together and as a result, you would get the LCM of two certain numbers.

Q

What is a Lower Quartile?

A

In a group of numbers, there is the Lower Quartile. The Lower Quartile is basically 25% of the way. You can work this out by finding the median number, and then looking at the numbers before the median. Find which one of those are in the middle.

17
Q

What is the Upper Quartile?

A

The Upper Quartile is basically 75% of the way in a set of numbers.

18
Q

What is the IQR?

A

The IQR is a mathematical abbreviation for Inter Quartinal Range. You can work this out by subtracting the Lower Quartile by the Upper Quartile.
