Sequence
a sequence is a series of numbers that follow a rule to get from one term to the next

a whole number
Linear Sequence
when the sequence adds or subtracts the same number each time

In notation what does n mean
n is a positive whole number or integer
n is 1, n is 2, etc

4 x n which is the 4x table

How is the base number written?
Large because it is the number you are repeatedly multiplying by itself - here it is the 5
How is the index number written?
Small and to the right of the base number. It is sometimes called the exponent or the power. Here it is 2.
